In Japan, Kuraray first began production and sales in 1960 under the trade name MAGIC TAPE™, which means "MAGIC TAPE™" in Japanese and means that two pieces of cloth are snugly attached to each other and can be put on and taken off at will.
The name "MAGIC TAPE™" spread nationwide when it was adopted as a fastener for the headrest covers of passenger seats on the bullet train, which made its spectacular debut in 1964, and attracted a great deal of attention.
